Math: we have started or geometry unit by exploring 2 dimensional shapes. We are looking at their attributes. How many sides they have and how many vertices they have. We will be discussing line segments and 3 dimensional shapes as well.
Writing we will continue to write small moments but will be branching out into letter writing. Our school post office has opened and the students are getting ready to learn how to write a friendly letter and to address envelopes.
Reading is a continuing process. All students need to read 20 minutes a night in order to grow as readers. The expectations for AT grade level are very high for the end of the year. Don't forget to remind your child to log their minutes on their January Reading Calendar.
In Social Studies, the students are continuing to explore communities, what they are, which ones they belong to, and responsibilities in those communities.
